Cinnamon Clove Balsamic Reduction

  • 1 cup of balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut sugar honey or maple syrup
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • a few cloves


  • Add all the ingredients to a small saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil then reduce the heat and maintain at a simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes stirring occasionally.

The smaller the saucepan the longer it will take to reduce. Keep an eye on it as it can quickly burn. The mixture will reduce to about ¾ cup and will continue to thicken as it cools.

  • Remove spices.
  • Store in a glass container at room temperature.
